Jorge Pinto Antunes is a Deputy Head of Unit in the European Commission. He began his career in the Directorate-General Environment moving on to the Directorate-General for Health and Consumers, where he has worked in the implementation of the EU Health Strategy, in particular issues related to health and competitiveness and healthy ageing. Recently he has been leading the team involved in the development of the European Innovation Partnership on Active and Healthy Ageing. His interests include: risk detection, screening and complex interventions for prevention of frailty in old people; innovation in delivery of care (with focus on care integration) and poly-pharmacy and adherence.
